Tiffany Alfonseca
What a real barbie looks like

$300

Tiffany Alfonseca (born 1994, New York) is a Bronx-based Dominican-American mixed media artist whose bold, pastel paintings celebrate the multiplicity of Black and Afro-Latinx diasporic culture. She envisions her canvases as a joyful space for the grace of Black and Brown bodies. Engaging W.E.B. DuBois’ theory of double consciousness, she is interested in depicting a Black and Brown perspective defined by multiplicity. She received her BFA from The School of Visual Arts in 2020. Her work has been included in group exhibitions at Fordham University and New York University. This work is offered as an extension of Tiffany’s recent participation in the exhibition Afro Syncretic at the LatinX Project at New York University
