Davide Stucchi
Socket (Sitting Room)

$300

Davide Stucchi (born 1988, Italy) is a Milan-based artist whose work involves minimal interventions in existing materials to investigate social functions and representations of queer masculinity. His subtle manipulations often trace memories of touch, materializing absent bodies. In a series of light switch sculptures, he laid images of bodies choreographed for performance, dance or fashion into the banal domestic furnishing in a gently lyrical gesture. Recent shows include solo exhibitions at Deborah Schamoni, Munich; Galerie Gregor Staiger, Zurich; and Sundogs, Paris; as well as group exhibitions at Centrale Fies, Dro, Italy; Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin; Quadriennale di Roma at Palazzo Delle Esposizioni, Rome. This work is offered as an extension of the recent group exhibition All Clothes Artists’ Own at Gregor Staiger, Milan.
