Nora Turato
sunny days meant more shadows

$300

Nora Turato (born 1991, Zagreb) is an Amsterdam-based artist who culls language from a culture oversaturated with information. Collecting phrases from the internet, advertisements, conversations or her own thoughts, she works across performance, script, installation and bookmaking. Her aesthetic expressions and sharp graphic sensibility tap into a profound hollowness of gentrified language—a sign of the times. Turato studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and at Werkplaats Typografie, Arnhem. Turato’s work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, Vaduz; Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto; Galerie Gregor Staiger, Zurich; Sammlung Philara, Dusseldorf and upcoming at MGLC, Ljubljana. She has created 4 artists books, most recently pool #4, published alongside a performance presented by The Museum of Modern Art’s Studio Now. This work is offered as an extension of let’s never be like that with LambdaLambdaLambda at LA MAISON DE RENDEZ-VOUS, Brussels.
